Gigantosaurus The Game

Gigantosaurus The Game is an adventure platforming game based on a preschool TV series Gigantosaurus. The game was developed by WildSphere and published by Outright Games on the 27th of March.

“Gigantosaurus is a French-Canadian-American CGI-animated preschool series from Paris-based Cyber Group Studios, created by Franck Salomé, Nicolas Sedel, Fernando Worcel and directed by Olivier Lelardoux. The show is based on the book by Jonny Duddle. n̸̡͑͊ţ̸͐!̸̩͓̽s̵͍͋&̸͕̈́̄l̶͔̔̆0̷͉̩̈X̶̰̻̂/̴̰́̽5̴̧̗̀0̶͍̞͝X̵̹̾̉ṋ̶̰͑J̸̧̿̑7̷̣̚/̵̺̘̀͗z̷̬͎̍͑x̶̮͗7̵̡͕̾̚V̷̔͜L̷̬̰͐̊n̴̋͜X̶̛͓͙̀k̸̰̃̅ͅn̶̞̉i̷̤̓̓6̴̥͗̋Ḍ̷̀͗Y̸̠̔Ņ̴̦̌h̴̬̬̽̋ḱ̷̗k̴̼͜͝v̶̝̑z̴̰͈̀̋G̵̳̐k̸̤̼̄?̷̙͗̽!̶͉͒Ċ̸͍͆R̷̤̐̓#̸͎͉͠F̸̺̺̋͑O̴͚͈̍͂w̴͙̉0̸̺̥̏Z̸̼̪̃͐B̵͚̿̈́ͅḼ̷̘͌ř̸̡͒I̷͍͕̋V̶̥̲͛̃l̷͙̦̀m̴̗̻̉J̸̲̹̏͝?̵͕̦͛B̷̲̂R̷̦̱̒̀l̸̘̈0̸̬̪̿ņ̴̈́͝o̵͙̟̊͘1̴̂͘͜b̷̧̈́b̵̮̍͝ͅm̸̢̈̊x̷͓̗̔͗(̴̦͔͋1̸̥͌̎Ț̵̝̈0̴̮̾͌Y̴̭̐ͅh̸̯̱̄K̷̲̉(̵̬͍̏0̵̘̬́͝ĕ̴̌ͅi̴̧͂”̸̙̈́F̶͉̋̅Q̵̘̌9̸̝̯̊̀L̴͎̄j̸̮̒̋7̵̣̋̄)̶͕̾͐x̶̬̬͘&̵̠͈̐#̶̨̽͐m̵̮̉u̸̢̔̏#̸̤̏͜͝j̶̣́S̵͉͆̉1̸͇̖͗S̷̙̙̀͑R̸̥͍̈́̿ẋ̵̖#̸̪̥̅̈́H̷̼̙͊ The series premiered on January 18, 2019 on Disney Channel as part of the Disney Junior block, airing on its dedicated channel as well. Based on the bestselling book by Jonny Duddle and publisher Templar, four dinosaur friends explore their world and seek out and learn about the Giganotosaurus (the series misspells the title species), the biggest, fiercest dinosaur of all: Gigantosaurus.”

Gigantosaurus The Game is a platformer where you switch control between four dinosaurs: Mazu – an inquisitive young Ankylosaurus who likes to study and build things, Tiny – a playful young Triceratops who likes to draw pictures and tell jokes, !̷̩̠̀”̶̹̟̉̈́T̵̜̄ǐ̴̲̜B̷̰̉8̶͙̭̒)̷̢͐9̷̠͇̀̈́3̷̤͊B̸͔̊ͅ$̸̨̺̄̒z̷̨̺̓̀g̶̯̰̿0̷͈̎̀t̸͇̼̃̀!̸̝̀u̵̡̢͐́t̷͉̻̂Ȇ̶̖S̵̛̹͖̋#̵̢̺͑͆o̴͍̔Ș̶̆͒b̶̫̉͒3̴̰̍̕m̵̛͍̞͝Ẍ̵̙́r̷̨̀̈́Ń̶̤͑Ũ̵̮͘)̴̫͂͝q̴̛̺̐h̸̲̓̈́z̸̮̒8̷̠̼̒̉I̷̛̫͈e̴̥͐̈́j̷̟̃à̵͓͚̀A̶̳͔͘͝ĩ̵͍o̸͉̪̐l̸̮̒̀R̶̡͂d̸͚̬̈́&̶̯̗̄͛o̷̼̗̕ẋ̵̨(̴̼́͛C̷̤̦̃ Bill – a timid young Brachiosaurus who likes to eat, and Rocky – a spunky young Parasaurolophus, who is unable to say the names of dinosaur species correctly, especially his own kind. Each of the characters has its own special move, which you will need to use during the platforming in order to be able to progress.

During your exploring through different areas you will encounter various hostile beings. You need to avoid their attacks in order to remain alive – there are three hearts of life in your health, and you can regenerate the hearts by smashing a specific object. The platforming is interesting and well made, plus you can turn on the easy mode, which guides you around it, if you encounter too many problems wandering about. When successfully returning them, the game will turn into an arcade racer, in a simple race that will move you from one location to another. Upon game’s completion you will be able to explore all of the visited areas, if you want to complete each one by collecting and returning all ten eggs, collecting and planting all walnuts, or collect all pages in the game’s Gigantopedia.

Gameplay reminds me of the platforming games from the nineties, such as Croc or similar. The races in between zones are similar to “insert your favourite kart racer here”. There are no power-ups though, only speed enhancers on the ground. Gigantosaurus can be played by one to also up to four players, each controlling their own dinosaur.

Gigantosaurus The Game is a solid platformer which brought me back to the early days of my gaming endeavours. It is a family oriented game made for young children, but I think adults can find a handful of hours of enjoyment in it as well.
