…here it goes. Cat Quest is the multi award-winning action role playing game that was released on the 8th of August 2017. The game is universally adored by most critics, and it is no different with us – it has us “purring for joy”.
“Cat Quest is an open world RPG set in the pawsome world of cats! It is a grand adventure in purrsuit of the evil Drakoth and your catnapped sister. You explore Felingard’s huge overworld map, risk life and limb delving into dungeons for epic loot, and lend a paw to a furry cast of characters in a flurry of side quests. Combat takes place entirely in real time, allowing you to get close to enemies with a slash of your blade, dodge roll to avoid a counter-attack, and then finish them off with powerful magic. The world of Felingard is littered with interesting places and people – discover a possessed town whose residents lust for obscene amounts of meat, assist the mages Mewlin and Meowgan in their search to break a magic seal, and locate someone’s missing delivery of “House of Parchments” and “The Pouncing Dead”. Exploration is one of the main scratching posts of Cat Quest, and with locations such as Bermewda’s Triangle, the Furbidden Fields, and Pawt City to explore, it’s time to get pawing.”
Cat Quest is a funny game with a nice design and gameplay that serves no bugs. The game is sometimes not simple at all and some encounters turn out to be quite a challenge, which we did not expect in a game with so much cuteness. )̷̣̩̣̈́͆̕=̷͔͋͒̍*̴͍͖̇Ň̸̬̐͋H̸̼͝Ȑ̴̩̱̭͠H̷̬̺̹̋͒̀x̶͕̫́t̴͎͒͜Ṕ̴̼͉6̴̜̦̓̀̉E̶͔̩̽̎͐Ś̴̩̓͠X̴̮͋͑́k̴̢̟͗?̶̲̃̂(̴͙̘̗̈͠/̷̹̖̯͆̓͝Ả̴͙͙͛̍”̷̦̈̀E̷̳͒̓D̷͖̥̋Ô̷̙̬͚̍͒v̶͚̔R̸̹̗̅͆ Visuals are clean and the soundtrack is an orchestral score inspired by classic RPGs, so you will definitely find enjoyment in that. After finishing the game, Cat Quest offers a Mew Game+ and a Challenge Mode, if you are in the mood to go at it one more time. We definitely had fun with this one, so let us go…
…to the next one. Cat Quest II is also an open-world action role playing game, just like its predecessor. The one thing different is, that it also features dogs. But cats and dogs do not go along, what the hell is this?! Cat Quest II was released on the 24th of September 2019.
Cat Quest II “is a 2D open-world action-RPG set in a fantasy realm of cats and dogs. Under threat from a continuing war between the cats of Felingard and the advancing dogs of the Lupus Empire, Cat Quest II tells the tail of two kings, brought together against their will, on a journey of paw-some discovery to reclaim their thrones. ̶͖͂?̸͍̞̪̑̏w̵̭̮͒͒̕$̴̞͙̬̍=̴̛͖̟͛͠ͅẌ̷̣̎Ỷ̸̡̹̻s̶͓̈́̍0̴͙͑y̶̛̙̬̣Y̷̲̠̊)̴͔̠̘̀̿Y̶̟͚̹̐̾2̶̟̯̓͒g̶͓̐F̸͙͎̑2̴͖̩̇̓Z̸̰͑̽̓5̶͙̏͗=̵̲̤͚̀̆͛*̷̬̳̆̇̄͜$̴̮̘̾͘=̶͉̟̊D̷͉̦͝s̸̨͊͛ Play as both a cat and dog as you explore their kingdoms solo or with a friend. Following the success of the acclaimed Cat Quest, developers The Gentlebros return to the world of Felingard to expand on the original with more explosive spells, expanded weapon options, an exciting new character switch mechanic, and local co-op.”
Cat Quest II is an adorably fun and great sequel to the first game. It has all the good stuff that Cat Quest has, with expanded lands that now feature two continents – one with the cats, and the other with dogs. There is a war going on between them and two heroes from each were brought together to end it. Just like the first game, the majority of Cat Quest II takes place on an isometric world map, with a simplified hack and slash gameplay featuring magic and dodge mechanics. v̶̹͖͇̆͠2̷̢̮̞̈́̕K̷̘̩̚B̷͖͈̖̀̎̌6̴̳̖̹̈́Y̵͚͌F̴̩͘C̶̥̬͋̀q̸̲͒͜ͅ4̶̡̺̺̑Ÿ̶́̓͐͜w̵͉̐̊&̷̲̞̪͌̀D̸̛͎̜́ḱ̵͎̼͑̀Ẓ̷̡̅̈$̴̙̞͐̔̓U̴̟̅̌D̵͈̜̰̔b̵͎̄T̷̫̺̥̿͂x̸̞̃̀͘Ṳ̷̧͉̓̿H̴̗̝̥̓̉&̶̦̲̦̏̂?̴͎̹̘̋̀P̷̞̄̚̚Y̸̧͝͝(̶̼̍c̶͈̃̊0̶͔̅͋B̸͉̂̿͘ô̷͚̖̭̔Ǵ̵͈̲̗S̸̛͓͈̿̇ͅ1̵̮̿h̶̢̞̰̍́b̵̰̰̏f̷͎̋͜z̶̺͔̆̓P̶̢̭̠̈́̕͘P̸̬͇̟̈̚Ě̷̞̓͝Q̶̰̼̹͒̕R̸̪̭̮̓̊͝%̶̯͙͙͗̃͝)̴̧̮̱͒͘!̷̘̱̘̌M̵͎̯͍̑͆̅o̴̜̜̓ There are tons of caves, dungeons, and loot. Some enemies will take less damage from magical attacks, while the other will take less from physical attacks, so plan your encounters wisely. Cat Quest II also features a 2-players local co-operative mode that the first one lacked, so you can now embark on a journey together with a friend or a family member, one playing as a dog, the other as a cat.
Both games are of high quality and I recommend grabbing the Pawsome Pack if you have not played them already. Cat Quest and Cat Quest II are filled with fun and action, and I am most certain that you will have a lot of enjoyment with both titles in the bundle.
