#Funtime

#Funtime was released internationally on the 16th of July for Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It was developed by OneGuyGames and published in a collaboration between the developer and The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild. 1̷̢̜̤̎̽̉͒͌J̷͍͚̈́̏̀̈́ë̶̢̮̘̣̮́ä̵̪̘͍͇́͗2̸̧̧͔̠̘̆̋2̷̠̜͖̊̓̎̃̊x̴̘͐͐̀͂͘Ẍ̵̣̫̳̺̮́̂̔́̚x̷̡̱͍͐8̷̗̪͔͎̔̀͂́W̴̨̫̱͔̦̓̓U̵̙̠̥̾̌̌0̷̡̹̆͑̏͝͠Ǩ̴̤̱͙͉̉̃8̴̱̔̌t̸̪͍͙͙͐̎̒̅¨̴̼͕̈́͑̍̊̇q̷͙͗́C̵̛̪̩͔͚̅̇͂͆ț̵̡͉̰̆̌́͝K̵̫̑̓̓͆͌t̵̢͇̯̳̞͛Y̵͇̯̰̓͑͗͐̑͜¨̴̹̗̦͜͝!̵̼̦̾̓ #Funtime is a neon twin-stick shooter that brings bright light and space fights. “Blast your way through grids of multicolored madness while changing color to adapt to your environment and overcome the digital hordes. Persistent ship upgrades will keep you going further and longer into the great unknown.”

#Funtime was developed by Brandon Robinson, who describes it as an all about action high-score chasing twin-stick shooter with a color swapping mechanic thrown in to keep things fresh. You have to match the color of lasers or fire to avoid taking damage, and take cover in safe zones of the same color. It is the developer’s debut release, and dare we say a pretty, pretty successful one.

The key features of the game are 100% Original Soundtrack with beat-synced levels, color swapping mechanics (we are reviewing the game on PlayStation 4, where you swap colors by pressing the right side buttons – cross, triangle, square, circle), deep scoring system and persistent upgrades (your scores transfer to money that you can spend in the upgrades menu), 8 distinct battle modes, and over 50 challenging levels with live leaderboards. ớ̶̧̨͕̝͕̄͐z̶̜͎̖̖̬͆̈́g̷̦̓̄̃h̶̟̥̱̦̠͑6̸̳̈́̊̍͗?̴̮͇̭͕̃̈́͝w̶͉̭̌̊I̸͎͗B̵̖̽̾͋͠s̴̛̱̎̀̕n̷̟̟͙̽L̷̥̲͚̍l̷̡̦͇̟̙̈́͐̆̆̓Ȏ̸̪̖͗͛̉̑O̸̞̲͓̔i̵̍̄̒͝ͅL̶̨̪̝̗̅̑͆̐͘x̵̛͙̬͇͔̅͛t̷̤̬͋̓̋̚͜͝u̸͔̹̦͆͐͝&̴͇̫̠̭̥̿͗̈́͌X̷̛̭̝x̶̳̫̠͆̏̚̕͘ź̸͖̻̖͍̖͗͌͗̕P̵̧̧͓̬͐̌͛͠?̷̡̝̬͖̍̅ḽ̵̛͕̖͉̟͊̚M̶̨̢̞͈̓͆̆2̶͎̅̽T̴͙̜́̃̕͝x̷̢̤̀̔͜!̴̱͈̫̺́̀T̵͎͗̄͆͘8̶͉́̆̆͌͝r̴͈̒̐̚7̵̯̩̎̊̔1̵̛̣̯̍͛̊̚&̵̩̘͐x̴̧͖͉̌̒̈́̈́̏t̶̮̎̋̈́̊3̴͈̙̺̳͗͐̏͐Q̴̣̈́̍̃̚ẻ̶̯̼̚W̴̝̼̘̆́͘)̶̘̘̤͍́̂̍̈́̕8̶̦͒͝$̵̩͑̒̿̈́x̸̪͈̹̚͜p̷̦̞̰̄̀q̸̗̞͚͖͛̀ There are two modes, the Challenge Mode and the Arcade Mode. Challenge Mode has 54 challenges available that unlock by completing the previous one. Arcade Mode has six different game modes: Survival, Large Survival (a larger grid), and Open Survival (open world) – Score as many points as possible until you run out of your lives, Waves – Battle through 50 waves of enemies, Zones – Find safety in similarly colored zones, and Funtime – Batter your enemies with a wrecking ball.

#Funtime is influenced by the Geometry Wars series, which is not a bad thing at all, especially as it puts its own mark on the game by changing colors feature. The game is very fast-paced and quite addicting, so you will have some troubles to finally turn it off, because there is never enough of it. #Funtime has the “one more try” mentality as you are trying to beat your own highscores like a madman. At least I have.

#Funtime takes well known twin-stick shooter mechanics and adds to them with a unique flair of its own. Try to survive all of the challenges while claiming the high score and show your dominance on the leaderboards. Even if you cannot dominate the leaderboards, #Funtime really is an experience of spending your time with it in a fun way. A more than decent release, and we look forward to seeing what OneGuyGames holds for us in the future to come.
