DEVOUR, the four-player co-op survival horror, has begun its reign of terror with today’s full launch on Steam. Any soul brave enough to play DEVOUR will need their wits about them as they try to stop a possessed cult leader before they are dragged to hell. Run. Scream. Hide. Just don’t get caught…
DEVOUR is a screamfest of a survival horror game, with no two playthroughs ever the same. Developed by the small British indie studio Straight Back Games, DEVOUR is a white-knuckle co-op survival horror game best played cooperatively with easily-spooked friends. The one thing not scary is the price, as DEVOUR is now available for just €3.99 / £3.99 / $4.99.
As once devoted cult members, players in DEVOUR must steel themselves and work together to stop their cursed leader Anna Puerta from unleashing an unspeakable evil. With the goat demon Azazel possessing her after a ritual gone horribly wrong, Anna’s rage and power will grow with every step the players take in DEVOUR. In a race against time, the players burn ritual goats, evade a growing legion of demons, and ultimately hope to break Azazel’s hold over Anna.
DEVOUR is all about escalating difficulty and scream-inducing jump scares. A player’s only means of defence in the darkness is a UV flashlight. AI behaviour, locked doors, and item placement are randomized, making players second guess each and every move. Luckily, they don’t have to face their fears alone with a built-in server browser and positional in-game voice chat. For those surviving DEVOUR without breaking a sweat, a Nightmare mode for the ultimate challenge is available.
DEVOUR is a prequel to the previously released two-player co-op game The Watchers.
