On February 10th 2021, after almost three years of solo-development, Philipp Lehner released his first commercial release to Steam. Catty & Batty: The Spirit Guide is a short casual couch co-op puzzle game in which players have to build a path to guide spirits home. It features 30 levels, a hand-drawn art style, and lasts for about 1-2 hours.
The game offers full controller support for optimal local gameplay, perfect for upcoming Valentine’s Day to share a few heartwarming gaming moments. Over 800 hand-drawn sprites, 100 new sounds and an original soundtrack played mostly on a piano round off the overall experience.
Players afraid to scare off their significant others who are not well versed in gaming will be happy to know that there are no lives or game-overs, and the spirits never get lost or explode. Instead, while sometimes it is a bit more hectic, the spirits never actually leave the level, and can always be reigned in with a few more boxes.
Catty & Batty: The Spirit Guide is available on Steam and Itch.io for $4.99 (currently on launch discount for -15%).
